Ham...

I didn't brush Jack's hair after his bath tonight. He gave a look to match his hair for this picture. What a little ham he is!

A day in the life...

Of us is not extremely exciting. Especially with our long days at work & daycare. Luckily our weekends are fun. Mostly because Jack & I get to spend more time together. The hour in the morning and two hours (if I'm lucky) at night just don't cut it. This weekend is going to be especially fun: Grandma Barb is flying in Thursday night and then we are leaving Friday morning to spend the weekend in Wasilla at grandma & grandpa's.

One last T-Day photo

Leigh Ann did this self-portrait of sorts on Thanksgiving. It turned out perfect. This is our whole turkey day group. A lot of people. Just imagine how big the group would have been if all the fellas were home!

Practice...

Savanna has a baby sister due to arrive on the 24th of February. Her mom & my very close friend Nicole took me with her today to her 3/4D ultra sound. (Nicole went to almost all of my ultra sounds with me & was there when Jack came to us). Tonight Savanna got a little more practice on being a big sister by rocking Jack in what ever way worked!

Stuffed!

We had a great Thanksgiving!  Thanks to Kate for letting us trash her house with food, drinks and kids. My turkey took a little longer than expected to cook but it turned out yummy which is the important part.  Jack tried a little bit of real food for the first time,  mashed potatoes,  and wasn't in to it.  Next year!  Hope everyone had as great of a day as we did!

My handsome man

He didn't want to sit up.  He was comfortable with Auntie Leigh Ann
holding his head for him.  Just like that.

So much to be thankful for...

That I don't even know where to begin!!  I am extremely thankful for the little boy that I never thought would come into my life.  Jack has been the most amazing blessing I have ever experienced.  I am so lucky to have a baby who is always happy,  and doesn't mind that I am a total amature at child care!  I am thankful for his dad,  without him,  Jack wouldn't be the most awesome, handsome and happy baby in the world!  (Okay,  he has credit for half).  Jack has two sets of amazing grandparents so we are all thankful for them.  Grandparents who will fly an hour to come up here to drive six hours with me to Wasilla so I don't have to do it by myself.  Grandparents who call from a friends' iPhone to do facetime with Jack.  Who send cards for every holiday.  And he has countless amounts of people who love him like crazy.  I am truly amazed at the love he receives from literally all around the world.  I am thankful for all of my great friends, especially the "Real Housewives of B co, 1/52" as I like to call them.  Always there for me no matter when I need it and are especially encouraging with my new role as a mom.  They never doubted me for a second.  I can never express how thankful I am for you ladies.  My sisters,  who were excited for me to start this new chapter in my life from the very second I told them they were going to have a new nephew.   I am thankful for this big turkey I am about to take to Kate's house to cook over there for our Thanksgiving feast.

I really could go on and on about things that I would be devastated without.  But everyone needs to go enjoy their meals!  I will put pictures of ours and my hopefully amazing bird up tonight!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Almost T-Day!

Today is the last day of work for the week, and hopefully a short day. Jack has been pretty amazing this week: always happy and smiling in the morning, and happy (relieved it seems) when I pick him up after daycare. He's been a trooper, holding up very well for having to be there 12 hours each day. This morning one of his teachers told me almost all day yesterday he was smiling and laughing. These are a couple of pictures from about 5 o'clock am today:

Good times...

... With old friends! My dear friend Ben came up to Fairbanks from Seattle to do some work. This has been the 2nd time in 6 months he's been here and I've got to see him. Last time I was extremely pregnant, and tonight he got to meet Jack. The only few things that could have made the night better were to have his wife Chanel, their two kids Emma & William here, and some more time! Great to see you Benny!!

Back to the grind...

It was inevitable... I had to go back to work.  No one ever wants too but not a lot are lucky enough to stay home.  So,  Jack and I were up before five this morning.  He has to be to daycare at six so I can make it to work by 6:30.  He was in a great mood,  smiling and laughing as I got ready.  This day will not go fast enough for my liking.  I miss my little buddy like crazy!  He must of sensed my distress,  he was making faces at me to make me laugh this morning.  I was lucky enough to catch one with my camera....

Santa!

Another great thing about where we live is we share the town that Santa lives in also!  Today,  I dropped Jack off at Nicole's house to be watched by Heather while Nicole & I went to see "Breaking Dawn" (very good if you are wondering).  On the way home we saw two juvenile moose,  not quite big enough for just one to fill the freezer.  I still get excited every time I see them.  Even the small ones are enormous!  Then we were joined by Hollie,  Leigh Ann & Kate and all the girls to go with Jack and I to see Santa!
Beautiful morning in the NP!  Even if it is -26 degrees
Jack & his alter ego...

Convoy to Santa's!  Yes,  it takes three SUV's and one truck
to get five little girls,  one baby boy & their moms to Santa's crib.

Hope he brings us what we wished for!

It's Friday!

It's Friday but it's a sad one for me. Today is my last official day of maternity leave. I start back to work Monday. Like every mom I wish I could stay home with my little buddy. He goes to a great daycare and his teachers are really nice. It's good for both of us. Plus, me going back to work means we are that much closer to his dad & the rest of the Sugarbears coming home! We are going out this morning into this -35 degree weather to take Jack to daycare, I am going to come home & do all the household chores so we can enjoy our weekend together. Here is a picture of my little dude taking a mid-morning nap. Have a good weekend everyone!

Tuckered out...

First day of daycare wore Jack out! Asleep before 8:30...

Rough couple days...

The last few days have been a bit stressful on us... Yesterday (15 Nov) Jack had his two-month old immunizations.  He was unhappy during the exam and then we went to get the shots...  I was prepared for the worst.  Luckily my little buddy took the pain like a champ and cried just a bit.  Today I dropped Jack off at daycare for the first time.  I was a mess!  Started crying before I even put him in his car seat to leave the house.  He was fine of course.  Nicole asked me to go to lunch to her so I could stay occupied.  Thank you!  He stayed about 4.5 hours.  When I picked him up I interupted his meal,  but when he saw me and I asked him how his day was going he smiled ear-to-ear.  The teachers said he didn't sleep a lot,  little sporadic naps.  He is asleep right now.  We are going to go have dinner @ Nicole's as a reward to our day.  I did a lot of errands while he was at daycare,  and I am glad I did,  today was a cold one and I hate taking him out in the cold!

Got home after school... we both survived!

Veterans Day

Sometimes I find it inappropriate to say "Happy" Veterans Day, since so many have been lost. It's a day to remember the sacrifices those gave for their duty. Like Sugarbear tail number 171, aka Dry Ice 41. A painting of her and her crew hangs in our living room as a reminder. Also the huge heartbreaking loss of a hooker crew, night stalkers, & sEALs earlier this year in Afghanistan. So I would like to say "thank you" to my heros, Uncle Jack and step-dad Unyun. You guys are amazing. I hope Jack becomes even just half the man that you both are. And thank you to my fellas and a couple ladies scattered across Afghanistan right now with the Sugarbears. I miss you like crazy and wish I was there. Jack can't wait to meet all of his crazy Uncles and a couple Aunts. But most of all, his dad. He is very happy that this will be his last mission. We are hosting a dinner tonight, with the crazy Uncles' wives and children and can't wait. I am making tortilla soup! Before that, we are going to join Nicole & Savanna at a holiday bizarre in town. No Carla, no stroller. Here are a couple pictures from our morning so far...

Even through a dirty window & powerlines,  the sunrise is amazing!

And my little turkey is sleeping through it!
I am still in awe that a 12 pound turkey can take
up my entire bed!

He is just like his father.  Does not want to wake up.

What a weekend!

Actually our weekend wasn't extremely exciting,  but it was filled with fun stuff!  We got our Christmas tree in the mail,  did a little furniture shopping,  went to brunch,  and I took Henlie & Savanna on an afternoon walk...
This turned into...

This!  Bad picture,  pretty in person.  Yes,  I took it down.
No, It would not fit back in the box.
Our Saturday night date.  We watched
"Smokey and the Bandit"

Death grip on my hair

Brunch @ Pike's Landing... this was take 48.  By that time
we were all feeling pretty goofy.

No more sitting in the car seat at dinner for this guy.
He was on laps the whole time involved in the conversation.
Time to get out the chair that attaches to tables
Auntie Amy & Uncle Jason sent!

Oliver,  Savanna & Henile.  This was about 3:30 pm... Daylight was
running out,  sunset for Sunday the 6th was scheduled for 4:15 pm!

Henlie, myself & Savanna stopped along the way for a photo op.

Keira's old high chair.  I put Jack in it as an
experiment...  He totally dug it!
